We asked: How could the Network do a better job of reflecting the different communities, cultures, and experiences across our membership?
You might think about things like: whose voices are featured in the newsletter, what topics show up in webinars, or how events are planned.
Summary of your responses:
The May 2025 Network Check-in revealed strong appreciation for current efforts to reflect the diversity of communities, cultures, and experiences across the Network. Participants felt the Network was doing a good job overall but suggested several ways to deepen this impact. Key ideas included featuring individual projects more regularly in newsletters (with visuals or video), offering flexible event scheduling to support participation from smaller or remote teams, and creating more opportunities for programs to share their practices, challenges, and cultural insights with peers.
Additional suggestions included expanding community engagement through surveys and social media, increasing Indigenous, newcomer, and rural voices in planning and presentations, and building a shared resource hub showcasing diverse program ideas and cultural celebrations. There was also strong support for co-creating programming with community members and diversifying frontline staff to better reflect the populations served. Overall, the responses highlighted a desire to sustain and expand inclusive practices across communication, events, and peer learning opportunities.
