Here is a quick update for the Central Zone!

Nancy Howson (Coordinator of the Etobicoke Brighter Futures Coalition) has agreed to step into the Chair role for Central Zone!  At our next Central Zone meeting (Sept 24th at 10 AM EST) Yvette will hand over the baton!  Thank you, Nancy for coming forward and buckets of gratitude for Yvette's consistent leadership over many years.

I'm pleased to let you know that Yvette is now putting her name forward to join the Network Coordinating Committee to represent the Central Zone.  This is great news for the Central Zone!

As you may or not be aware, in our Network each Zone in Ontario (there are five) has three spots for representation on the Coordinating Committee.  With Yvette putting her name forward, we now have 1 of the 3 spots filled. There is still opportunity for anyone else who might be interested to also put their name forward. One of the three spots is designated for an Indigenous project.

What does the Coordinating Committee do? Coordinating Committee members are asked to guide the work of the Ontario Network of CAPC/CPNP projects by giving input into the development and implementation of workplans with a focus on providing resources and learning opportunities to all CAPC/CPNP staff in Ontario. This work is then undertaken by the Network Program Lead (me!).  Coordinating Committee representatives play an important bridging role providing insight to the CC on the needs and trends from their Zone and to also report back to the Zone about the work of the Coordinating Committee.  Again, this is all done with the support of the Network Program Lead.

What is the time commitment?  Coordinating Committee members meet monthly on the 4th Tuesday of the month, 1-3 PM EST (no meetings in December, July & August). There is about an hour of prep time needed to read reports, etc before the meeting and the occasional additional meeting time in a month.

If you are interested in putting your name forward as a Central Zone Coordinating Committee rep, please let me know.  I'm happy to answer any questions you may have.

I look forward to seeing you all on the 24th.

cheers,

Sydney
Network Program Lead
