This workshop series is designed to educate health care professionals in the perinatal health sector on methods that can be used to assist them to a more culturally safe environment and experience for the African, Caribbean, & Black (ACB) patients/clients they serve.
Both workshops for this training will include two sessions conducted by a facilitator, with the aim of participants unlearning their current understanding of culturally safe approaches to caring and serving racialized/Black persons during pregnancy and birth. Each session will be two hours long and the two sessions will be held on March 3 & 6 2023 from 12-2 pm.
Session 1: Introduction to Cultural Safety, reviewing history, and the ACB community
Session 2: Understanding Cultural Safety within the ACB community and learning how to apply it.
Each session will include content , discussion and Q & A.
All sessions will be recorded and will be available to review for 48 hours before it deletes. It will only be available to participants taking part in the workshops.
